I’ve had a rough 24 hours and I wanted to share how much be.come helped turn things around today.
Yesterday someone did something to me that sent the message that my body was not my own. I was triggered all day. I sat in class all afternoon wanting to crawl out of my skin. I decided to go workout to get my mind off of what happened and relax. This was the first time I was doing this weeks routine and I was STRUGGLING. I couldn’t hit the beats, my body wasn’t doing what I wanted it to, everything felt weak, and I wasn’t feeling the movements where I thought I should have. I finished, but the minute I hit the child’s pose I started crying out of frustration with myself and my body (in the middle of the school gym, no less).
Enter the power of only doing one routine a week! Today everything clicked. I hit the movements, everything was burning in all the right ways, I was POURING sweat, I was feeling the beat in every inch of my body, and I ended the routine with a massive grin on my face. My spirit is lifted and I feel amazing.
I’m so grateful that I have be.come as a resource for my self-care and practicing self-love
